"The objective is not simply to manage behaviour. It is to change the dynamic and give the family a sustainable way forward". Damon

About Damon Bachegalup, Family Intervention Consultant

Background & Perspective

"I did not come through this work purely through theory or academic pathways.

As a young person, I experienced first-hand what it is to struggle within systems that do not always understand behaviour, structure or direction.

That perspective has stayed with me.

Over time, life has placed me on both sides of the family dynamic as a child within it and later as a parent and step-parent navigating it.

This dual perspective informs how I work: with clarity, directness and an understanding of both the young person and the family.

At 40, I returned to education and formal training, building on years of lived experience with structured, professional practice. “I've been there myself.”

I now work with a small number of families each year, applying my Aligned Authority Method™ a structured approach designed to move families from ongoing conflict and uncertainty to stability, alignment and clear parental authority.

Engagements are limited and offered only where a high level of direct, consultant-led intervention is required."

More Than Qualifications

Qualifications provide a foundation. Experience develops through working with real families, often when conventional approaches have not produced the change they were hoping for.

Over more than two decades, I have worked directly with young people, supported parents, mediated family relationships, provided therapeutic intervention and developed structured behavioural programmes.

This has shaped a straightforward principle:

Meaningful change rarely comes from looking at one person alone.

The young man's behaviour matters. So does the environment around him.

What Families Can Expect

Families who engage with me can expect direct, honest and objective professional guidance.

The work is designed to provide greater clarity around what is happening, identify behavioural and relational patterns, establish appropriate boundaries and expectations and create a more constructive way forward.

At times, this means challenging established patterns and asking family members to consider their own contribution to the situation.

I do not promise predetermined outcomes. Every family is different and no responsible professional can guarantee how an individual young man will respond.

What I provide is experienced, structured and personally delivered intervention, shaped around the circumstances of each family.

Personally Delivered. Deliberately Limited.

I work directly with every family I accepts.

There is no junior consultant between the family and I and no large team to whom the work is delegated.

Every enquiry is personally reviewed before a consultation is offered. Further intervention is considered only where I believes my involvement is appropriate and there is a genuine basis for working together.

The practice is deliberately limited.

A Significant Commitment

I work with a deliberately limited number of families who are willing to make a significant investment in creating meaningful and lasting change.

The work requires more than simply engaging a consultant. It requires openness, commitment and a willingness to invest both financially and personally in the process.

For that reason, I only accept enquiries from families who recognise the level of commitment involved and are prepared to make the necessary investment in resolving complex and entrenched difficulties.

This allows me to remain closely involved throughout each engagement and to provide the level of discretion, attention and personal involvement expected when working with private families.

For families, Personal Assistants and family offices seeking discreet specialist support for a young man aged 15–25, the starting point is a private conversation about the circumstances, the family and whether there is a genuine fit.

Discretion & Confidentiality

I work with high-profile individuals and families where discretion and confidentiality are paramount. For this reason, I do not publish client testimonials or identify families I have worked with. I do not ask clients to disclose their experiences publicly for the purposes of promoting my practice.

The work speaks for itself and the privacy of those I work with comes first.

Media & Discretion

My work has previously received UK media coverage, including features in The Sun and the Bolton Evening News, relating to his work with young people and families.

Today, my practice is deliberately limited and highly discreet. I do not publish client testimonials or identify private families I have worked with. Where appropriate, previous media coverage provides an independent record of my work without compromising the privacy of those I supports.
