Help for my Teenager. I am passionate about helping families, teenagers and young adults because, "I was that difficult teenager" and as a parent myself, I also had a difficult teenager. I am a Family Behavioural Consultant who works with high-performing families to help their teenagers and young adults navigate emotional, social and behavioural challenges with confidence. My approach is strategic, discreet and tailored-combining psychology, coaching and real-world insights to build resilience, improve relationships and unlock each teen's and young adults potential both at home and in life. I use a mixture of approaches, my own life experience, mentoring and mediation skills to identity what will work best for the teenagers I work with as I truly believe that one size does not fit all. As we know, unfortunately, teens/ young adults do not come with an in-depth instruction manual which we can refer to in times of challenging behaviour, however, we feel that the young people we work with could best be described as "good children who are making bad decisions and choices at this time".

I am the founder and Head Family Behavioural Consultant at Teencamps-UK, an organisation I established in 2008 to support teenagers and families facing behavioural and emotional challenges. With over 26 years of experience as a Family Behavioural Consultant specialise in teen's and young adults, Psychotherapist, Mediator, and Author, I brings a wealth of expertise. My approach is integrative, combining therapeutic techniques with personal life experiences to create tailored interventions for each young person. My journey into counselling began after working for many years as a HGV driver and as a doorman in Manchester during the 1990's, I decided to return to education in my 40's after overcoming personal challenges such as Dyslexia. I was inspired by watching the Ch 4 programme "Brat Camp" and I identified that there was a gap in UK-based behavioural camps for teens and so I decided to start Teencamps-UK.
I have helped young people with various issues such as mental health issues, depression, anxiety eating issues, drug issues, alcohol issues, addictions (including Social Media and Online Gaming).
Adoption issues, being fostered, family breakdowns/ disputes, relationships, trouble at school/ college.
Loss and bereavement, depression, self-harming, LGB, gender dysphoria, coming to terms with sexuality, social isolation, suicidal thoughts, bullying and computer misuse issues.
I have an up to date Child Protection Policy and we hold a Safeguarding Children Certificate 2022, Family Mediation Certificate Level 4, Mental Health Awareness Certificate 2020, Life Coaching Diploma 2020, Suicide Awareness Training 2023 and Mindfulness Diploma 2020.
