Private Summer Residential Intervention for Young Men

A limited opportunity for summer 2027 · UK school holidays in North Wales, UK

A privately arranged 7 days residential experience for selected young men who may benefit from time away from familiar pressures, a structured environment and individualised support.

TeenCamps-UK offers a limited summer residential opportunity for young men aged 15–25, subject to individual assessment, suitability and availability.

The experience forms part of the private intervention practice of Damon Bachegalup, Family Intervention Consultant.

A Different Kind of Residential Experience

Some young men reach a point where familiar routines, repeated conversations and established approaches are no longer producing meaningful change.

Family relationships may have become strained. Motivation, responsibility or engagement may have declined. Attempts to address the situation at home may have resulted in further conflict rather than progress.

A residential experience can offer a different setting in which to consider established patterns, develop greater personal responsibility and explore a more constructive direction.

Each potential placement is considered individually. The purpose is not simply to provide time away from home, but to establish whether a structured residential experience is appropriate for the young person and the wider family situation.

Individually Considered. Professionally Structured.

This is not an open-enrolment summer camp.

Every enquiry is reviewed personally by Damon Bachegalup. Suitability, the circumstances of the young person, family involvement and the practical arrangements must be considered before any placement can be agreed.

The approach is informed by more than 26 years of direct experience working with young people and families experiencing complex behavioural and relational difficulties.

The emphasis is on individual circumstances, meaningful engagement, personal responsibility and identifying a constructive way forward.

Who May Be Suitable?

The opportunity may be relevant to families whose son is experiencing difficulties such as:

  • Persistent conflict at home or deteriorating family relationships.

  • Disengagement from education, work or other responsibilities.

  • Resistance to parental boundaries and expectations.

  • Reduced motivation, direction or personal accountability.

  • A pattern of unsuccessful attempts to address difficulties through conventional approaches.

These circumstances do not automatically establish suitability. Each young person must be considered individually, including their willingness and ability to participate safely and meaningfully.

The residential experience is not intended to replace specialist medical, psychiatric or other clinical care where this is required.

The Role of the Family

Although the residential experience focuses on the young person, the wider family context remains important.

Parents or appropriate family representatives are expected to engage in the assessment process and to provide relevant information about the circumstances, previous approaches and desired outcomes.

Where appropriate, the initial family consultation helps establish whether a residential experience is a suitable option or whether another form of intervention would be more appropriate.

The objective is to consider the young person's circumstances in context, rather than treating the residential experience as an isolated solution.

Summer 2027 Availability

The next potential summer residential opportunity is planned for the UK summer school holidays period in 2027.

Availability will be restricted, with any placements subject to assessment, suitability and confirmation of the residential arrangements. Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee an invitation, a placement or a particular date.

Further details, including the proposed dates, location, format and financial arrangements, will be discussed with families whose circumstances appear suitable.

The Request-for-Consideration Process

01 — Submit an enquiry

Complete the private request-for-consideration form, outlining your family's circumstances and the difficulties you are seeking to address.

02 — Personal review

Damon reviews each enquiry personally. If the circumstances appear potentially suitable and availability permits, the family may be invited to arrange an initial paid consultation.

03 — Family consultation

The 60-minute consultation provides an opportunity to examine the situation in greater depth, consider the family's objectives and assess whether a residential experience is appropriate. The consultation fee is £1,200.

04 — Consideration of next steps

Following the consultation, suitability, availability and any proposed arrangements are considered before a decision is made about proceeding.

The consultation does not guarantee acceptance or a residential placement.

A Private and Selective Approach

TeenCamps-UK has a history dating back to 2008. Today, its work sits within a broader practice of private family interventions led by Damon Bachegalup.

The summer residential opportunity is a limited part of that work, offered only where the circumstances, suitability and practical arrangements support proceeding.

All enquiries are treated discreetly, and information is considered in connection with the family's request.

Request Consideration for Summer 2027

If you are considering whether a structured summer residential experience may be appropriate for your son, you are invited to submit an initial enquiry.

Every request is reviewed personally. An invitation to a paid consultation is offered only where there appears to be a potential fit and availability permits.
